One particular New York bartender, Sheldon Wiley, is king of the cocktail records as he holds both the record for the Most Cocktails Made In One Hour and the Most Cocktails Made In One Minute.

1. Largest Cocktail

The largest cocktail measured up at 39746.82 litres in Sacramento in America. Created by Nick Nicora in July 2012, the Calarita Margarita cocktail was made in a large shaker and contains 4,650 bottles of Jose Cuervo Gold Tacquila.

2.Largest Cocktail Making Lesson

In 2013 at Diageo’s Western Europe Concert, 1,774 participants made a vodka martini. Their recipe featured vodka, vermouth and lemon zest and the record was broken by employees from across Europe.

3.Most People Shaking Cocktails Simultaneously

At the same conference in Spain, Diageo also broke the record for the most people shaking cocktails simultaneously. 1,710 people took part in the September record.

4.Most expensive cocktail

Would you pay £8,583 for a cocktail? In Melbourne in 2013, Joel Heffernan created the world’s most expensive cocktail selling for 1500 US dollars. The cocktail was called the ‘Winston’ and contained 60ml of Croizet’s 1858 Cuvvee Leonie Cognac which is the world record title holder for the most expensive cognac sold at auction.

5.Most Cocktails commercially available

Ever struggled to weigh up the options when looking at a cocktail menu? Pencho Penchev from Pench’s Bar in Bulgaria has a cocktail menu featuring 2014 cocktails. Marking the fourth time he held the record, he is thought to be working on a bigger menu to beat the 2014 March record.

6.Most Cocktails Made In Hour

Sheldon Wiley holds two cocktail records including shaking up 1905 cocktails in one hour at New York’s Bounce Sporting Club on 18th March 2014.

7.Most Cocktails Made In One Minute

His second record was also made in New York as he made 18 cocktails in one minute while on  set of GMA Live! In 2013. Each cocktail was made one after the other with all cocktails served in a long glass and consisting of a minimum of 8 ounces to adhere to the record breaking statistics.

8.Most People Cocktail Flairing

In case you aren’t aware, cocktail flairing is the term given to the practice of bartender’s entertaining guests, juggling cups, sliding bottles etc. The record is held by T.G.I Fridays who attempted the record in 2011 in celebration of their 25th Anniversary. Held at London’s Covent Garden Piazza, 101 bartenders from across the globe completed a three minute choreographed flair routine simultaneously for two minutes.
